Announcement regarding the Opening of Pengbo (Hainan) BNCT Hospital
We are pleased to announce recent progress regarding the BNCT (Boron Neutron Capture Therapy) Hospital we are currently collaborating with in Hainan Island, People’s Republic of China.
An opening ceremony was held on February 7th, 2026, at Pengbo (Hainan) BNCT Hospital, located in Hainan Province, where our company will supply the BNCT drug. The ceremony was attended by government officials from Hainan Province, as well as officials from Pengbo, the operator of the Hospital, personnel associated with the Chinese Medical Association’s Radiation Oncology Society, members of Osaka Medical and Pharmaceutical University who provided technical guidance on BNCT treatment, representatives of Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd., and related companies, including our company.
The Hospital was established as the first medical facility overseas to adopt BNCT pharmaceuticals and medical equipment approved in Japan. Examination of patients referred from all over the People’s Republic of China prior to treatment including the creation of optimal treatment plans is now under way and BNCT treatment is scheduled to commence during this fiscal year ending March 2026.
We have been working to accumulate knowledge regarding the clinical research and commercialization of BNCT both in Japan and overseas, therefore the opening of the Hospital represents a significant milestone toward the social implementation of BNCT treatment outside Japan.
We will promptly announce the start date of treatment after confirming all necessary information from Pengbo, the operator.
